Audemars Piguet Replica WatchesBrandsWATCHES 新手入门:手表入门指南(第六天):新手如何识别假表 by magzhen 2025年5月5日 written by magzhen The watch market is a mixed bag, and newbies often fear buying fakes. Don’t worry—this “Beginner’s Watch Essentials” teaches you 5 easy tricks to sharpen your “eagle eye” and spot the difference—even with imitation watches—ensuring your money is well spent! 1.Check the weight—authenticity has “substance.” Genuine watches are often made with quality metals, feeling solid in hand; fakes typically use lightweight plastic, like a toy. Tip: Hold it and compare—the official weight is usually 100-200 grams, with real ones heavier. Beginner Tip: When buying imitations, choose ones with weights close to the original for better quality! 2.Examine the dial—details hide the truth. A genuine dial has clear, flawless markings and fonts; fakes often show blurriness or misalignment. Tip: Use a magnifying glass to check the date window and logo alignment—uniform lume coating is a good sign. Beginner Tip: Even imitation watches aim for detail—pick ones from reputable makers for a closer resemblance! 3.Listen to the movement—sounds reveal clues. A mechanical watch has a subtle “tick-tock” sound, while a quartz watch is smoothly silent; fakes might have constant noise or no sound. Tip: Gently shake it to detect odd noises, then observe the ticking while still. Beginner Tip: Imitation quartz watches have less noise—choose them for peace of mind! 4.Check the packaging—the box tells a story. A genuine watch comes in a refined box with thick lining and anti-counterfeit manuals; fake boxes are rough or lack detail. Tip: Compare with official website images, check serial numbers and certificates for consistency. Beginner Tip: Even imitations focus on packaging—pick ones with certificates for reassurance! 5.Consult an expert—turn to a “watch guru” for help. Unsure on your own? Seek a pro for identification—truth revealed in a flash. Tip: Contact a local watch shop or online appraisal service, submit photos and videos. Audemars Piguet Replica WatchesBrandsWATCHES Beginner’s Watch Essentials Day 5: Secrets to Extend Your Watch’s Life by magzhen 2025年5月5日 written by magzhen Watches are like precision machines, needing lubrication to last. Newbies often overlook this, letting their watches overwork or dry out. Don’t worry—this “Beginner’s Watch Essentials” unveils 5 lubrication and care secrets to keep your watch—especially affordable imitations—youthful and by your side for years! 1.Master lubrication basics to protect your movement’s health. A mechanical watch’s movement has over 50 friction points; dryness causes wear. Regular oiling reduces friction, extending life like an oil change for a car. Secret: Apply light synthetic oil (like Moebius 9010) to jewels and pivots, and service every 2-3 years. Beginner Tip: Even imitation watches need lubrication—choose durable ones for less hassle! 2.Regular cleaning removes “lubrication killers.” Dirt and sweat mixing into the movement can ruin oil, speeding up wear. Secret: Wipe with a microfiber cloth weekly, deep clean monthly with a soft brush and warm water for waterproof watches, preventing dirty oil buildup. Beginner Tip: Affordable imitation steel watches are easy to clean, saving effort and money! 3.Avoid over-oiling to safeguard your “movement’s breath.” Excess oil can seep into the hairspring or gears, clogging the movement. The reference stresses moderation is key. Secret: Use a dropper for 1-2 drops of oil, following movement documentation, and keep the oil cup clean. Beginner Tip: Not sure about oiling? Opt for imitation quartz watches needing less maintenance! 4.Avoid extreme conditions to extend “lubrication life.” High heat or humidity evaporates oil, while magnetic fields disrupt movement function. Secret: Store away from sunlight, keep distance from speakers, and maintain a dry room temperature. Beginner Tip: Imitation watches with anti-magnetic design last longer—pick one! 5.Professional servicing keeps “lubrication” powerful. A movement needs a full overhaul—disassembly, cleaning, and re-oiling—to restore peak performance. Secret: Service every 2-3 years, replace oil and gaskets, and scrub off old grime. Beginner Tip: Affordable imitation watches need only a few dollars for servicing—great value for longevity!Looking for a durable, hassle-free imitation watch? It might be sweat or moisture sneaking in.Emergency Fix:Mild fogging: Use a hairdryer on low heat for 5-10 minutes, or place the watch in a sealed bag with a desiccant overnight.Severe moisture: Don’t delay—send it for repair, where the watch can be disassembled and dried, and the seal replaced if necessary.Beginner’s Tip: Even waterproof watches can’t handle a sauna—heat is the enemy of the seal! Before and After Comparison: Fogged-up Glass and Desiccant Treatment 2. Loose Hands: Wandering or Falling Off? Stay Calm! Are the hands crooked or even fallen off, like they’re on “strike”? Don’t worry, this is quite common.Emergency Fix:Slight looseness: Gently press the hand back with tweezers, then secure with tape and send for repair.Completely fallen off: Place it back into the case, carefully close it, and have a professional reinstall it.Beginner’s Tip: Dropped your watch? Quickly check the hands, and don’t let them “fall apart”! 3. Clicking Sound: Are Internal Parts "Dancing"? When you gently shake your watch, does it make a clicking sound, like something is “dancing” inside? It could be loose parts.Emergency Fix:Mild clicking sound: Observe for a few days. If the watch keeps running, continue wearing it; if the sound worsens, get it repaired.Continuous abnormal sound: Don’t wait—send it for repair to check for loose screws or gears.Beginner’s Tip: Even high-quality replicas are durable and can withstand drops. Choose the right watch, and you’ll worry less! Loose parts 4. Second Hand "Speeding": Why Is It Jumping Every Five Seconds? Is the second hand acting like it’s in a hurry, jumping every five seconds? Audemars Piguet Replica WatchesBrandsWATCHES Watch Beginner’s Essentials Day 2: Cleaning Tips by magzhen 2025年5月2日 written by magzhen Watch is your daily companion, but have you ever thought about how much dirt it might be carrying? Since the watch sits close to your wrist, it comes into contact with sweat, dust, and even food crumbs, which over time can cause it to lose its shine. Not to mention the summer rain or small slip-ups while washing your hands—these can all be the culprits behind a “dirty” watch. Don’t worry, today we’ll share 5 simple steps to restore your watch’s cleanliness and vitality at home. Whether it’s a luxury piece or an affordable one, it deserves to be cared for! Preparation: Essential Tools Before Cleaning Before you start, prepare these household gadgets to make cleaning more efficient Your cleaning tool Soft bristle toothbrush It's best to use an old toothbrush because the bristles are soft and won't damage the surface. Warm soapy water Suitable for cleaning metal watch straps (more details to follow). Microfiber cloth Clean and dust-free, with strong water absorption. Toothpick A great helper for tackling dirt in crevices. Tip: Check the waterproof performance of the watch first. If it’s an older or non-waterproof watch, avoid any liquid contact and skip directly to the dry-wiping step. Step 1: Carefully check the condition of your watch Before cleaning, take on the role of a “detective.” Pick up your watch and observe it closely (you can use a magnifying glass):Crown and buttons: Are they loose or damaged, possibly allowing water to seep in?Edge of the crystal: Are there any cracks or signs of detachment?Case seams: Is there noticeable dirt buildup? If you find any serious issues (like a broken crystal), don’t risk cleaning it yourself—leave it to a professional. For regular dirt, this step helps you identify the key areas to focus on during cleaning. Step 2: Remove the strap and give it a deep clean The inner sides of the lugs and the connection points of the strap are often the main areas where dirt accumulates. Use a spring bar tool to gently remove the strap (if you’re unsure how to do this, you can skip this step, but the cleaning effect will be less thorough). Once removed, both the case and the strap can be thoroughly cleaned. Step 3: Wipe the watch case for basic decontamination Take a microfiber cloth and start wiping from the case:Crystal: Gently wipe away fingerprints and dust.Bezel and edges: Carefully remove sweat marks.Case back: Don’t forget the back, as it often collects skin oils. This step only takes 1-2 minutes and will restore your watch’s basic shine. Most light dirt can be handled here, but stubborn stains will need to be dealt with in the next step. Step 4: Toothpick + Toothbrush, Precision Cleaning What to do with stubborn dirt in the crevices? Try these little tricks:Toothpick magic: Trim the tip, wrap it with a microfiber cloth, and gently scrape around the bezel or lug crevices. Be careful with the pressure to avoid scratching the precious metal case.Soft-bristled toothbrush: Dry brush the details of the case to remove debris. If the case is water-resistant, you can lightly dampen the toothbrush and gently scrub, then wipe clean with a dry cloth.Note: For non-water-resistant watches, never use water. Be cautious with the toothpick on precious metal watches to avoid leaving marks.Want to buy a watch that’s durable and easy to clean? These affordable styles are worth a look: ➡ https://luxrepwatches.com/ Step 5: Clean and revitalize your watch strap Different types of straps require different cleaning methods: Metal Strap Soak in warm soapy water (dishwashing liquid + warm water) and gently scrub with a toothbrush. After rinsing, pat dry with a paper towel, then polish with a microfiber cloth.Focus on cleaning the clasp and connection points. Leather Strap Wipe with a slightly damp cloth, avoiding soaking.Let it air dry naturally, and avoid direct sunlight. Daily Maintenance Tips Keeping your watch looking pristine isn’t hard after cleaning:Regular Wiping: Every 3-5 days, quickly wipe it with a microfiber cloth to prevent dirt buildup.Take Off the Watch When Washing Hands: Avoid soap water seeping under the watch.Store in a Dry Place: Use a watch box or store in a dry environment to extend its lifespan.Cleaning makes your watch more durable, but choosing the right style makes life easier. Audemars Piguet Replica WatchesBrandsWATCHES Watch Beginner’s Essentials Day 1: 6 Key Watch Facts Every Newcomer Should Know by magzhen 2025年5月1日 written by magzhen The first installment of the Watch Beginner’s Essentials series. Congratulations on owning your first watch! Whether it’s a holiday gift or a long-awaited choice, this small companion on your wrist deserves to be treated with care. But as a newcomer, you may wonder: is simply wearing it enough? Not really. A watch not only needs to be worn, but it also requires understanding and maintenance to keep ticking for the long run. Don’t worry—this “Watch Beginner’s Essentials” will guide you through 6 fundamental facts, helping your new treasure stay shiny and keep ticking! 1.Understand Water Resistance Levels, Don’t Be Fooled by “Waterproof” You might see “Water Resistant 30M” on a watch and think it’s safe for swimming? It’s not that simple. Nowadays, nobody uses the term “waterproof” because no watch is completely water-resistant. The correct term is “water-resistant,” and the number represents different levels of protection:30M: Splash resistant, fine for washing hands, but don’t submerge it in water.50-100M: Safe for swimming, but be cautious with leather straps.200-300M: Suitable for diving adventures.Beginner tip: After swimming, rinse with fresh water to remove salt or chlorine that can cause corrosion. Going in the water without properly tightening the crown? That’s a major rookie mistake! 2.Find a Safe Spot to Store Your Watch When you’re not wearing your watch, don’t just toss it on the table or in a drawer. Direct sunlight can fade the dial, and humidity can damage the movement. Keep it simple by using a small box (even an old shoebox lined with soft cloth works) and store it in a cool, dry place. Want something more elegant? Try a marble watch stand—both stylish and scratch-resistant.Beginner tip: Does your automatic watch need a winder? Unless it’s a complex perpetual calendar, you don’t need to spend extra money on one for a regular watch. 3.Beware of Magnetic Fields, Don’t Let Your Watch “Get Lost” Most modern watches (post-2000) are magnetic-resistant and can withstand interference from phones. However, large speakers or strong magnets are still a threat. Vintage watches are especially vulnerable, and being near a magnetic field can cause them to lose time.Beginner tip: Switch hands when talking on the phone, or use headphones to avoid magnetic interference. Want peace of mind? Try a magnetic-resistant watch! 4.How to Travel with Your Watch? When traveling with a watch, it’s important to balance convenience and security. A travel watch box is a good idea—single-watch cases (diameter under 50mm) are affordable and practical, and they fit easily in your luggage without getting crushed. If you’re not wearing it, store it in the hotel safe and don’t just leave it on the bedside table. 5.When Wearing Daily, Which Occasions to Be Cautious? While watches are beautiful, they’re not suitable for every occasion. In crowded places or on public transport, it’s better to keep a low profile, especially with gold or high-end models. A stainless steel watch is perfect for everyday wear—safe and worry-free.Beginner tip: Worried about losing your watch? Consider getting insurance for your precious piece, and enjoy every day with peace of mind. 6.Get Insurance, Protect Your Precious Watch Whether your watch is expensive or not, it’s worth getting insurance. For example, my $4800 watch has an annual premium of about $65, covering loss, theft, and even accidental damage. Whether it’s a high-quality replica or a genuine piece, insurance gives you peace of mind.Looking for a high-quality, worry-free watch? Audemars Piguet Replica WatchesBrandsWATCHES Upcoming Watch Shows demonstrate parts of the Watch Market remain Strong by magzhen 2025年2月28日 written by magzhen It’s widely recognised that the watch market overall is not strong right now. We all remember (and shudder at) the boom in interest in watches in 2020 and 2021 and the associated leaps in pricing for certain famous models. It seemed for some time that the Hype train would never end, but it did with an auction of a very special Patek Philippe, and the market has been soft with falling prices ever since. New watches have seen sales volumes fall dramatically and brands looking for ways to encourage buyers back amidst ever-increasing competition from new Microbrands and new High-End Independents. There are a few areas of the market where interest remains sky-high, however. As an events business and community of watch enthusiasts, we get to see exactly where people’s energy and activity is going in this market; to great value timepieces with a great story, and often, a local flavour. A Limited Edition Watch from one of our favourite British Microbrands, Studio Underdog Ever since we started The Watch Collectors’ Club in 2021, we’ve been astonished by the interest and demand for British Watch Brands. We recognise the amazing diversity of design and great story telling have inspired clients to try these often very young brands. We’ve done our best to help, running many events with British brands over the last couple of years. We’re even more excited that opportunities for these brands to promote themselves and get their watches on to people’s wrists continue to grow with more and more shows and events popping up. This November we’re running The Manchester Watch Show for the first time, welcoming over 350 enthusiasts to Central Manchester to meet 25 brands from those just starting out to well established names with customers all over the world. Ours is not the only show coming up! Later in November there is the Time and Tide weekender in London in conjunction with the Alliance of British Watch and Clockmakers, bringing together 15 brands for two full days of horological excitement. On the same weekend over in Bristol there’s the new Bristol Watch Show featuring another 10 British brands for a day in Bristol’s smart Clifton neighbourhood. The first of these shows is already sold out, but there are tickets available in Bristol, find them here. A sample of the Mr. Jones Watches Ricochet, one of the most successful models in their collection. They’ll be at The Manchester Watch Show on November 9th. There’s also the well-established Watchpro Salon on the first weekend of the month in London’s Leicester Square, featuring over 40 brands including many British brands, brands just launching, and some famous names from Switzerland and elsewhere. We’ve got a discount for tickets you can use, and The Watch Collectors’ Club will be giving tours of the show during the Saturday afternoon if you want to meet some friendly watch people while you’re there and get help finding the watches you’re most interested in. This year has seen some successful shows already, namely the WatchIt Watch Fair in the Midlands in June, where over 400 people saw timepieces from 40 brands. The current biggest enthusiasts fair in the world is Windup Watchfair in New York, and plenty of British brands were there visiting clients last week. Both are great signs that the market is healthy for great watches with interesting design at good prices. An Elliot Brown Holton Automatic. This company from Devon are regular attendees at watch fairs in the UK and will be in Manchester. The other area that remains strong is that of smaller independent brands. These range from handcrafted low double digit producers making exceptional High Horology, such as Roger Smith on the Isle of Man, Kari Voutilainen or Berneron in Switzlerand, Felipe Pikullik in Berlin, to more affordable new ideas, like Anoma or Killokium. Enthusiasts love getting behind these brands as they offer something different to what’s found from the large legacy companies that dominate the industry. A Voutilainen Vingt-8 Limited Edition piece. We’re aiming to put more events on next year that help you get close to these watches. We’re running 7 events in November, but 2025 will see us step up again. We’ll run more than one show in the UK, and are returning to Watch and Wonders in Geneva in April (come with us for exclusive access, we’ll take care of your whole itinerary). We’re also looking to set up more events around the UK for brands to showcase their watches if they don’t already have distribution. If you think we should come to a city near you, let us know! We love hosting great watch events that bring the community together and allow watch people to meet other watch people and get hands on with great watches. Keep an eye on our site and social media so you don’t miss out as we start to schedule some of the fantastic stuff we’ve got planned for 2025. If you’re coming to Manchester, we can’t wait to meet you there, and if you still want a ticket, the only way to get one is to join the Club as a Member. There’s a great set of benefits and a year’s membership starts from only £75. Audemars Piguet Replica WatchesBrandsWATCHES A Celebration of Horology in the North by magzhen 2025年2月28日 written by magzhen This article is written by Club Member John O’Connor The historic Halle St Peter’s venue in Manchester came alive on November 9th, 2024, hosting the eagerly anticipated Manchester Watch Show. The event, which sold out in under 24 hours, brought together watch enthusiasts and manufacturers in a celebration of horological craftsmanship that exceeded all expectations. 24 prestigious watch brands (we would have had 25 but for Marloe having a breakdown on the way!) showcased their collections, offering attendees the rare opportunity to experience their timepieces firsthand. The intimate setting allowed visitors to engage directly with designers, founders, and craftspeople, creating meaningful connections between creators and collectors. The Watch Collectors’ Club, represented by Co-Founders Hamish and Ed alongside us volunteers – myself, Michal and Hrishi, put into practice the club’s mission of fostering in-person connections among watch enthusiasts. It was such a pleasure to be able to share that joy with so many of you in Manchester. “Thank you so much for putting something on up North! When is the next one?” became the day’s recurring question, highlighting the pent-up demand for horological events outside of traditionally London-centric locations. The Volunteers and Co-Founders of The Watch Collectors’ Club; John, Hamish, Ed, Michal and Hrishi Among the highlights was Christopher Ward’s presentation of their latest releases, including the newly launched guilloché Bel Canto, which drew consistent crowds throughout both sessions. This watch was announced a mere 9 days before the show, already demonstrating the show’s significance in the watch industry calendar. The Christopher Ward Bel Canto Classic While established brands drew significant attention, the show also spotlighted smaller manufacturers like Harold Pinchbeck, whose representatives shared insights into their hand-assembly process in Lincoln. These interactions with independent watchmakers provided a refreshing counterpoint to the industry’s larger Swiss houses, embodying The Watch Collectors’ Club’s commitment to celebrating horology at all scales. As a member of 2 years and counting, I get to see a lot of watches from almost every brand I can name. It can be easy to become a little desensitised! It’s putting names and faces to the people behind the brands that keeps that passion for watches alive for me, so I’d encourage you to join if your main outlet is looking at renders on a screen. A selection of Harold Pinchbeck’s smart dress watches, all assembled in Lincoln The success of the Manchester Watch Show demonstrated the enduring appeal of in-person watch events and the vibrancy of the UK’s watch community beyond London. By bringing together enthusiasts, makers, and collectors in a single venue, the show created an environment where the shared passion for horology could flourish, setting a promising precedent for future events in the region. The Watch Collectors’ Club are already planning next year’s show in Manchester in early November, and you can register your interest here so you don’t miss out on tickets going on sale next summer. The Club is also hoping to hold Meetups and Events in Manchester early in the New Year. Register your interest in those here. Finally, the Club’s next large show will be in Glasgow on May 10th 2025.
